Our second meeting following on from our successful launch in October at the Savation Army Hall Gillingham will take place at The Hope Centre for All Nations 336-338 High Street Rochester ME1 1BT on Tuesday 3rd November at 7.30pm. All are welcome who want to find out more or desire to share in our goals of creating a culture of hospitality and welcome for refugees coming to the Medway Towns.
Our main speaker will be Colleen Molloy, National Development Officer for the City of Sanctuary movement. She brings with her a wealth of experience and expertise and will be speaking about international and national perspectives on the present refugee crisis.
We are also pleased to announce that Syrian Christian Hala Georges will be presenting to us a snapshot of her unique perspective on the Syrian conflict. Resident of Rochester and close to completing her doctorate, she lectures at the University of Creative Arts. Her deep longing for peace, her home country and love for her family shines through her work.
A number of councillors and community leaders will be with us at this meeting and I am assured of a warm welcome from Pastor Ishola and his team. See you there!
